Footwork Fridays: Featured Choreographer, Bobby Newberry!

Dancing has always been a huge part of my life...hip hop, salsa, tango, tap, jazz, ballet...and even clogging (that was a rough year). One of my favorite things to do is search YouTube to find standout routines. Sometimes I just enjoy watching them and other times the routines are so amazing that I can't help but teach them to myself.

There's so much talent out there and luckily the internet has made it accessible to share them with others! Each week I'm going to feature a different routine that I personally found to be brilliant...

This week's favorite footwork belongs to choreographer Bobby Newberry. I've been a fan of his for years, but you may have recently seen his guest spot on Dancing with the Stars. He was brought in to assist Anna and Evan with their freestyle dance, which I felt needed to be a bit more hip hop to make it work -- It didn't show off enough of Bobby's strengths to do the routine justice. Regardless, some of Bobby's other credits include: PUSSYCAT DOLLS, GIRLICIOUS, KELIS, EMINEM, EVA LONGORIA for BEBE, PLAYBOY MANSION, FLAVA and TAYLOR DANE.

Because he's such a great choreographer, I couldn't pick between two of his routines. The first one is to Rihanna's, "Breakin Dishes". Its a lot of arm work, but the musicality of the choreography is spot on.

The second is to Nicole Scherzinger, "Whatever you Like", and its just plain hot. Montana, the blonde girl in the front, kills it!

I hope you love them as much as I do. Share it with others, teach it to yourself, or just enjoy!

Don't listen to the haters! Go see SATC 2!

I was lucky enough to catch an advanced screening of Sex and the City 2 before it hit theaters. Don't worry, I won't tell you the ending! I won't even hint at it...although going into it, I said that I'd be happy as long as I liked the ending. And I was.

I've heard critics say the movie is an un-watchable, awful film that will be laughed at. I honestly think you truly have to be a fan of the series to appreciate the film for what it is. You don't walk into the theater thinking SATC 2 is going to win an Oscar. You go because its an experience you used to share with your girlfriends. Back when the show was on TV, the girls would all get together each Sunday to catch up, eat good food and watch the show...together. Not only is SATC 2 a way to relive that experience, but for 2.5 hours (yes, 2.5 hours...a bit long even for the biggest SATC fan) you get to have a martini and a laugh with your favorite girls again. Its just like old times. Except now we're older and we can afford fancier shoes.

Is SATC 2 cheesy in places? Yes. Cliché? A bit. But, does it have the laughs, fashion, friendship...and men that made you fall in love with the show in the first place? Yes. Take it for what it is: A great excuse to get together with your best friends and go on vacation with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. In a time when people spend too much time picking apart things in life - just sit back and get Carried away. You've earned it.

Aloha Lost!

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while to discuss music, movies, tv, fashion...and well just anything I find interesting in my crazy life as a New Yorker. So, what better time to start than with the ending of Lost!? Half of me is sad to see it end and the other half is happy the end is finally here. How many of you think all of your questions will be answered in the last episode tonight? I'm hopeful, but as I said before watching Sex and The City 2 --- as long as I like the ending, I'll be happy. *Spoiler alert - Just finished watching it and I'm not sure if I'm happy. But, more on that below.

The Lost marathon continues with a 2 hour recap. Here's what I took away from it as I watched.

7:01 pm: "If we can't live together, we're going to die alone." - Jack. I can't think of a better statement to sum up the entire series. Wow, its hitting me that its finally ending. Getting more sad.

7:02 pm: How young does everyone look in the first season? All that island sun wasn't kind over the years.

7:06 pm: I still don't understand how Hurley didn't loose ANY weight. I know there was Dharma mashed potatoes and everything, but still.

7:10 pm: Does anyone know if its safer to sit in the front or the back of the plane in case it crashes? I always heard the back...

7:11 pm: So in all of those island running scenes, turns out they were on treadmills? I love tv magic!

7:12 pm: "Guys, where are we?" - Charlie

7:14 pm: God, Daniel Dae Kim is a beautiful man. The bone structure...

7:16 pm: Question they actually answered -- When we saw Jacks dead father on the island, it was really the Man in Black

7:18 pm: Saywer's recap. I loved this for the nicknames he had for everyone. Kate = Freckles. Hurley = Stay Puff. Locke = Mr. Clean. Lapidus = Kenny Rogers.

7:20 pm : "Son of a Bitch!" - Sawyer

7:25 pm: Locke's recap. Of all the characters, I feel like his story line is the saddest. I always felt bad for him and hate that he ends up being the bad guy at the end. Or is he?

7:30 pm: Oh look Claire sans her crazy lady wig.

7:35 pm: Boone dies! I heard he slept with the director's daughter in real life and it didn't end well...I doubt that had anything to do with his character's demise.

7:37 pm; How creepy was Ben Linus when we first met him? I always remembered him from one of the Saw movies, so that didn't help things.

7:40 pm: Sun & Jin's recap. I forgot how horrible their marriage was at the beginning. They really grew into the characters I loved the most on the show, mainly for how much they loved each other. That was a great evolution of two characters. They were the only two deaths I mourned this season. They better be alive and well in sideways world with their daughter. I won't be satisfied with the ending if not.

7:44 pm: Desmond. The Constant. I can't wait to find out his role in bringing the two worlds together brotha.

7:46 pm: Ben Linus. "The most beaten character in television history." Well deserved. I've never known anyone to be so vulnerable yet so diabolical at the same time.

7:53: Daniel Dae Kim's favorite scene: Sawyer and him in the Dharma van, drinking beers and learning to say "Those pants don't make you look fat" in english.

7:55 pm: Charlie, goes to the underwater station. "Not Penny's boat." Such a sad moment.

8:00 pm: "We weren't supposed to leave". - Jack

8:02 pm: I like Kate and Sawyer together better than Kate and Jack.

8:03 pm: I knew Jin didn't die in the freighter explosion. Sun not so much.

8:04 pm: "Where the hell's the Island?" - Lapidus

8:06 pm: Dharmaville 1974.

8:08 pm: "I'll miss you John. I really will." - Ben Linus

8:10 pm: Alcoholic Jack in a beard decides he needs to go back to the island.

8:13 pm: "To recreate the conditions of the first crash, the body of Locke was brought on the plane." Is that how it works to get on the island, you need a dead body? First it was Jack's dad, then Locke.

8:16 pm: "This don't look like LAX" - Sawyer, after the bomb doesn't go off and reset things. Or did it? Sideways world begins! RIP Juliette.

8:24 pm: "Nothing's irreversible." - Jack

8:33 pm: Ben Linus, history teacher. Hurley's picnics with Libby, Sun and Jin not married, Sayid hunted by Sawyer and Miles, Desmond and Widmore are friends. Sideways world is weird.

8:37 pm: Charlie causes Desmond to flash for the first time. "Not Penny's Boat." Loved this moment. "the worlds are moving closer together".

8:40 pm: Oh Richard and you're amazingly thick lashes. Important note: He is not wearing eyeliner.

8:44 pm: The Jacob / Man in Black backstory. I never realized that Jacob's touch saved the candidates from being killed on the plane. Always something to learn.

8:50 pm: Not Locke emerges. The candidates get on a sub. "Locke can't kill us" - Jack.

8:53 pm: "I won't leave you." - Jin. I hate this part.

8:55 pm: John Locke pancake, Hurley gets Kate and Sayid out of jail and Jack tried to fix Locke's spine.

8:56 pm: Kate points out that Jin hasn't even seen his little girl yet.

8:57 pm: Jacob calls a meeting. "I'll do it. This is what I'm supposed to do." - Jack.

8:58 pm: "Now you're like me." - Jacob

8:59 pm: "I'm going to destroy the island." - Not Locke.

THE FINALE, appropriately titled, "The End". Anyone else nervous? Please let me like the ending.

"No one can tell you why you're here Kate." - Desmond

Wait, Desmond wants to go back to the island? Where is this place he keeps talking about?

Jack drank Jacobs water... so does he have special powers now? Sawyer wants to know the same thing.

Hurley throws out another Star Wars reference. "The dude's worse than Yoda." Love it.

I like the new, not-unlucky, Hurley in sideways land.

Its starting to look like the concert is where everything's going to go down later.

Why does Sayid look so shocked by Hurley throwing a drugged Charlie into the back of his Hummer? Its not like he hasn't killed tons of people in the past.

"Nothing is irreversible." - Kate.

I love that Sawyer just called Not Locke "Smokey". I'm going to call him that from now on.

Rose and Bernard are back! "God only knows when and the hell we are now" - Rose

Bernard brings Smokey right to Desmond. Nice move.

For being stuck in a well Desmond's hair looks beyond perfect. That's some Abercrombie sh!t right there.

Richard's alive! I knew he couldn't have died so . I feel like he's going to have a bigger part in bringing the smoke monster down.

Back in sideways land, does Sun recognize Juliette a little bit?

Yes. Yes she does.

Omg now Jin remembers. Hands down best moment so far. Tearing up.

So does this mean that when people die on the island, they jump to sideways world and continue on with their life there?

Smokey wants to throw Desmond into the cave of light. That's what he needs him for. At least that's my theory.

Richard gets his first grey hair. Jacob is dead. Does that mean Richard is free of his duties? Isn't this episode supposed to answer all these questions and not bring up more?

Has Kate not learned anything? Bullets aren't going to do anything to Smokey.

So now I'm thinking jack wants to throw Smokey back into the Cave of Light to kill him.

EEK! Jack and Juliette have a son together in sideways land?!?! That is amazing.

Bamboo Forrest time! Can we see Not Locke turn into the smoke monster just once? Pretty please?

"Jack. I believe in you dude." - Hurley

"We're here". - Smokey

Desmond tries to explain to Jack that the crash never happened and none of this matters. Still not understanding why Jack is helping Smokey get Desmond into the cave.

Shannon and Sayid have their flash sideways. I forgot all about their relationship on the island. But more importantly, Boone is back. Thank God the Vampire Diaries is on and I can get my fill that way.

Claire, her gun and her crazy wig are back. I really hope normal, un-nappy Claire gets to come back by the end.

Back in sideways land -- I can't wait to hear who's on the other end of Juliette's phone is. Who is the husband?

I feel a Charlotte and Farady flash coming on...

So far at the dinner... Faraday, Charlie, Charlotte, Widmore, Juliette, Miles, Miles' father, Claire, Desmond. Something big is going to happen here.

And that would be Claire going into labor?

And on the island... The Hot Tub Time Machine is in the cave of light?

I still don't get why Jack is letting Desmond do what Smokey wants. Now its a volcano. Great.

"It looks like you were wrong." - Smokey

Yes, it looks like taking all the light took away Smokey's power!

"Looks like you were wrong too!" - Jack

Sideways land: Desmond tells Eloise that once everyone in sideways world knows about the island, they're leaving, but he's not going with them. God I can't wait to find out what the hell he's talking about.

Finally, deja vu for Kate and Claire. I'm starting to realize how the island brought everyone together and how their relationships with each other made them into better people. Second best moment of the night.

Back on the island:

"Locke was right. This islands going down!" - Sawyer

Showdown between Jack and Locke on the clifs, where Jack pulls out a fighting move straight out of the movie Troy. Who knew? So, who's going over the side first. I bet jack. OH shizz, there goes the cliff.

I want you to know Jack, you died for nothing" - Smokey

Thank God Kate saved the extra bullet.

And now we know why Jack's next kept bleeding.

"You're too late." - Smokey

Back in sideways land, Locke can move his feet, and flashes at the same time. Jack doesn't remermber yet, but I feel like H=he's going to be the last person and is the final key.

"Jack, I hope somebody does for you what you just did for me." Locke

So back on the island, once Not Locke dies, the shaking and rain stops.

"Its over." - Kate.

Oops, spoke to soon.

In sideways world, Jin tells Sawyer he'll see him there. What is going to happen at this concert?

The shaking continues on the island -- why can't they just take the boat that is docked in plain view off the island that Locke was about to take?

"If the islands going down, I'm going down with it." - Ben Linus

Jack is off to turn the island back on. Can't wait to see how he does that.

Jack and Kate share a "I'm never going to see you again" kiss. Wait they love each other too?

"I don't believe in a lot of things, but I do believe in duct tape." - Miles. Might be my favorite quote of the night.

Kate just schooled Sawyer in cliff diving.

Sideways land - Juliette and Sawyer flash over a meeting at a vending machine - aaand third best moment of the night.

Jack is the only one left to remember. "I know you don't understand yet, but if you come with me, you will." - Kate

Back on the island, Jack tells Hugo that it needs to be him to protect the island.

"Hurley, I believe in you." - Jack

Is drinking the river water followed by a nasty case of the runs?

So Claire knows she's crazy. Interesting.

Jack saved the island! Won't he turn into the smoke monster if he stays in the Hot Tub Time machine too long?

Hurley and Linus the new Jacob and MIB?

Only 10 minutes left. Still a lot to answer!

What?!?!? Is. Going. On.

At least Jack is asking all the questions going through everyone's mind right now, but still, not enough.

Speechless. I can't even put into words what's going through my mind. Up until the last 10 minutes, I was thinking this was the best episode I've seen in a while. I almost cried...three times. Then the ending just yanked that all away from me. Can someone please explain to me what just happened in the last 10 minutes? So they're all dead? When did Hurley and Ben die? And what happened to Lapidus and Miles who were on the plane who got off the island with Kate and Claire? Kate and Claire didn't actually die at any point so why are they at the church? If they didn't die on the island, how are they moving on? They were obviously moving onto heaven, but what was the place they were at? Earth? Limbo? WTF. I don't think I'm satisfied with this ending. I need to let this sink in more.
