Footwork Friday: Choreographer Robert DeOliveira

I've been distracted the last 2 weeks by The World Cup and totally neglected Footwork Friday! I'm making up for it by featuring one of my favorite routines that I've seen in a long time.

The featured choreographer is Robert DeOliveira, a Toronto, Canada native who teaches at the OIP Dance Centre. This award winning choreographer got his start dancing at the age of ten (which is actually a bit older for most kids), but by the age of 13 he was already working professionally. Dancing for artists such as Blake McGrath and Destiny's Child, you might also see Robert pop up in various music videos and the movie, "Camp Rock 2".

My favorite routine of Robert's is to Ciara's song, "Ride". Ciara herself was even impressed, tweeting the vid to her followers. I've watched dozens of other routines to this song that just look sloppy, weak and uninspired. Robert's version is far superior because it compliments the song without being cheesy. He does a great job with the pace and the overall routine is just fun and sexy. If you like what you see, you can also check out some of Robert's other routines here, or follow him on Facebook or Twitter.

Enjoy!
